it's just that nothing MAJOR has been happening...
so today is the last day of classes for this semester... as i posted on FB, "the last day of the semester brings bittersweetness, as well as a cocktail of fear and panic".
so far my coursework marks have been better than expected. though not up to my usual expectations, i guess =\. such is always the case is it not? sigh.
i dare not attribute my improved performance this semester to the fact that my social gallivanting has been reduced to a bare minimum.
however i DID manage to visit sabah on a certain debate excursion! XD THAT was an unforgettable experience to say the least. and the friendships formed were interesting.
i finally began to experience more of what i thought year one would be like. with random outings with coursemates and whatnot. as opposed to the socially-starved uni life i have been experiencing over my past two semesters.... yes it took THIS long for us to get properly comfortable with each other, so much so that we are close enough to drag each other along on random whims and fancies without feeling guilty or awkward.
this is what i feel defines the university experience. meeting people who share similar interests, and who are able to somewhat connect with you better than the average person would.
i am getting surer and surer of the suitability of my course for me, which is saying something as i'd never even heard of the profession prior to registration.
as for working... i helped out a couple of times at parties... but opportunity to do it again hasn't really risen. besides, i feel that part-timing as a babysitter is much better, and i much prefer it... and it is really paying off. i love the kids, and its safe to say that the kids adore me too. there really is nothing as satisfying as that. now, i can die contented that i have achieved something in life. yes, i do not have high expectations. mine really are pure and simple and most satisfactory to achieve. ^.^
recently on FB posts have been circulating concerning a certain race's perception that they are so much better than other races. it is utterly disgraceful. and i can hardly be proud to say that i am part of such a country. however, if it weren't for the food, the weather, the geographical features and the culture here, i would be gone in two shakes of a lamb's tail. personally, based on what i see on TV, asia really has the best variety of food. and a lot of it is available here. heh heh heh. and the beaches and mountains here are better for the sole reason that they are warm all year long. WOOTS.
tomorrow i'm going to try to meet up with jyll. hopefully i can get to tropicana city mall early to catch a few movies... hehe. loving the new cinema there. SO much better than the ones in MV and One U...
