hello good friend of mine.
how have you been?
what has life revealed to you,
since that day we parted ways?

my road was lonely and strange without you,
for along our journeys together,
i had grown used to having you by my side.
now, like the roads, our lives converge again,
you are at once familiar and foreign to me.

hello good friend of mine,
i am no longer the comrade you once knew.
life has left her mark on me, and still it grows.
as we reminisce and exchange words,
there lingers an emptiness in the air.
but yet, let us enjoy this fleeting moment as we pause on our journeys, for we know that soon we must part ways,
as your path is not my path,
as neither is mine, yours.

as the dawn breaks, so must we.
i cherish these last few moments we have together,
before i once again embark on life's journey alone,
i may meet weary travellers such as myself,
but not one kindred spirit such as thee.
